Just hours ago, a new business book hit the market. It happens every day, we know, but this book is more than just how to manage your 401(k) or make sure you’re not affected by the housing bubble. Those are inherently important topics, and we know, but it’s safe to say they’re not exactly original.

However, one original business book has hit the market with an emphasis on businesses like Teens in Tech.

Mike Michalowicz’s book The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur is in stock and shipping as of today at ToiletPaperEntrepeneur.com.

Wait, what’s a toilet paper entrepreneur? For more info, read on below the jump.

A toilet paper entrepreneur is an entrepreneur that starts off with nothing left but an idea and one sheet on his or her toilet paper rack. After a quick run to the bathroom, I could note that’s true for at least my stake in Teens in Tech. The reason we’ve decided to partner with Toilet Paper Entrepreneur is because we see a common goal - young entrepreneurship rising without the need for a large lump sum of money to begin. Mike sees it’s true for small businesses to succeed with the drive they have and not necessarily thousands of dollars of capital invested in them from day one.

We at Teens in Tech congratulate Toilet Paper Entrepreneur for the launch of their book, and would like to invite our readers to check it out at ToiletPaperEntrepreneur.com

Here’s the author of Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, Mike Michalowicz on CNBC’s The Big Idea with Donny Deustch:

Teens in Tech is delighted to report the hiring of David Ford. David was hired to be Teens In Tech’s Support Lead in late May and also hosts David’s Tech Show. Welcome aboard, David!

Teens in Tech is also delighted to report the promotions of Max Murphy and Richard Escobedo. Max was promoted from his previous role as Vice President of Content to President of Media Development. Richard was promoted from his previous role as Vice President of Operations to Chief Operating Officer. Congratulations to both Max and Richard for their new positions!

As mentioned below, the Teens Plugged In: Second Annual Teens in Tech Conference was held Tuesday, May 12, 2008 and featured two main Teens in Tech employees, Daniel Brusilovsky, TITech President & CEO and Richard Escobedo, TITech COO. More after the jump.

Richard and Daniel both spoke on what they had planned for the future after the launch of Teens in Tech during the Teen Developers Segment. Here are their official headshots from the event:

Daniel took part in the Teen Entrepreneurs Panel as evidenced below, on the right:

Richard spoke as a keynote speaker, as one of the Profiles in Entrepreneurship of the conference. Here’s what blogger DJ Cline had to say about Richard’s Profile:

“Richard Escobedo of Teens in Tech spoke about his interest in entrepreneurship from age of seven until his present age of fourteen. He learned to be resourceful, seek help when necessary and to persevere. He started a podcast for teens and uses Twitter, WordPress, Apple and Final Cut Express video. Beyond technology he plays football and the violin.”

Richard focused his Profile on the hardships and limits that affected him in his development as a Teen Entrepreneur.

Richard spoke about how rejection was a force that hit him hard, and hit him often. He used the sting of rejection in order to become more passionate about his craft, to become more persevering, and in order to thrive and become successful. Richard spoke about how rejection led to mistakes and failures which he found common among all entrepreneurs and that he found it crucial one admit to said mistakes and failures. He also spoke about the value of connections and associates in entrepreneurship.

Richard also spoke on how being a teenager resulted in having a limited income and consequently, limited resources. Richard elaborated on how he was able to get past this roadblock by using what was available (school’s equipment in his case) to make the best quality material, instead of more material at a lesser quality. Also, being a teenager, school hours were not business hours. Richard was unable to check his email at school or answer phone calls during the day, so he had to resort to going the bathroom to use his cell phone to reply to everyone. He also played on his school’s football team, which limited his home time and therefore, his time to spend on business.

He spoke about how he found his age was a crutch to some, but he advised fellow teen entrepreneurs to deny the naysayers, take things in small amounts, and to listen to advice. He also emphasized the role of getting out and meeting people in person.

We here at Teens in Tech are just as delighted as we launch the official blog for Teens in Tech.
The Teens Plugged In: Second Annual Teens in Tech Conference sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, Comerica Bank, and Microsoft in the Hewlett-Packard Auditorium in Palo Alto, California, which occurred yesterday, Tuesday, May 12, 2008. This conference was able to spotlight the effect teenagers are making in the technology business as well as advice that came from technological entrepreneurs to teenagers of today. This conference featured the President and CEO of Teens in Tech, Daniel Brusilovsky as well as the Vice President of Operations, Richard Escobedo introducing the company’s vision and plans, while Richard also gave a keynote address. Video of this address as well as further details from the conference will be available soon. For more information on the conference, click here.

Also, we’ll have a new theme coming for the blog very soon. It’s already been picked out, we’re just customizing it to our standards at the moment.

I’d like to close by answering a few common questions below the jump.

What is Teens in Tech? Probably the most common question we here on the staff have received, but if you’re asking me, I’m just as excited to answer it every time. Teens In Tech is a community that serves to give hosting for blogs, podcasts, video podcasts (vodcasts), or live streams. We do this because we want to see the next generation, which is rapidly approaching, be able to embrace the future media and to give those teens an opportunity to broadcast their opinions and an audience to broadcast their opinions to.

Why? Why not? We all feel very strongly that teenagers need to embrace this opportunity that has been put forth in front of them. We understand that not all teenagers are financially equipped to embrace said opportunity, so we would like to ease that burden by providing hosting.

What if I don’t know how to blog, podcast, etc? Simple. As blog editor, I plan on providing a page of instructional how-to videos off the original blog page (so as not to confuse how-to entries with news/information about the company) so that those who have never blogged or podcasted could become just as successful and masterful of their art as someone who has amassed hundreds of entries or episodes.

Where do I go with any questions or comments? Email us at or leave a comment here on the blog. I’ll make sure to deal with each comment individually and personably so that no question is left unresolved or unanswered.

I think I can make a positive contribution to Teens in Tech. Are there any job openings? We operate on a case-by-case basis, hiring those who are able to fit our needs. Email us at with your professional resume and credentials as well as how you would like to help us out at Teens In Tech. Your e-mail will be dealt with as promptly as possible.

I’m a member of the media. Who do I contact? E-mail us at and we’ll be able to help you as soon as possible.

So I know the blog is launched, but when is the actual service launching? We’re not sure at the moment, we plan on a launch in the very near future, but we will keep everyone updated as soon as a launch date is announced and a countdown will begin.
